First: The Clock

Lo bueno de contar con un Laboratorio de Arte Generativo es precisamente que podemos dejar volar nuestra imaginación hasta límites insospechados. Por ejemplo, podemos convertir algo tan simple como el tiempo en espacio, siguiendo algunas reglas sencillas.

The good thing about having a Generative Art Laboratory is precisely that we can let our imagination fly to unsuspected limits. For example, we can convert something as simple as time into space by following some simple rules.

Lo primero que tenemos que hacer es crear un reloj. Nada mejor que crear un reloj para darte cuenta de cómo funciona el tiempo.

The first thing we have to do is create a clock. Nothing better than creating a clock to realize how time works.

Nos daremos cuenta de que hay tres partes diferenciadas (horas, minutos y segundos) con una curiosa relación entre ellas.

Al poseer un Laboratorio de Arte Generativo no debería ser muy difícil convertir el tiempo en cualquier cosa que queramos crear.

We will realize that there are three different parts (hours, minutes and seconds) with a curious relationship between them.

By owning a Generative Art Lab it shouldn't be very difficult to convert time into anything we want to create.

Estudiemos las reglas que nos permiten crear un reloj y encontraremos la fórmula para crear cualquier cosa que funcione de la misma manera: fijemos ángulos. Todo el mundo sabe que un segundo no es un ángulo, sin embargo, necesitamos ángulos para indicar la rotación que debe realizar.

Let's study the rules that allow us to create a clock and we will find the formula to create anything that works the same way: let's set angles. Everyone knows that a second is not an angle, however, we need angles to indicate the rotation it should make.

We do this in the following way:

Imagino que estarás pensando lo mismo que yo: "¡Dios! ¡Esto es maravilloso!". De esta misma manera podríamos crear un reloj que fuera cuadrado a partir de un diámetro del cuadrado.

I imagine you're thinking the same thing I am: "God! This is wonderful!" In this same way we could create a clock that was square from a diameter of the square.
